ANKLA To Enter Studio In Early June
May 22, 2003Los Angeles-based ANKLA, featuring guitarist Ramon Ortiz (PUYA),Brazilian vocalist Ikaro Stafford, L.A local J.J. McNeal on bass, and drummer Aaron Rossi (STRIFE, SHELTER, MEDICATION),will be entering the studio in early June under the production guidance of Roy Mayorga (SOULFLY, MEDICATION) and Lucas of Wrong Entertainment. The band, who are currently unsigned, are planning to record several "seriously heavy" new tracks to be included on a promo CD to be used for shopping purposes. In other news, the band's previously announced show in Puerto Rico has been postponed "due to the lack of vision and integrity of the people putting the show together (Paco de Difusion and Killing Productions)," according to a message posted on the group's official web site. "[This was] a truly unfortunate incident since the band was prepared and anxious to share its music with the metal fans in the island. The music business is full of characters without the balls to back their word, ruining the efforts of serious musicians trying to make good things happen. To the people going to the show and to the in-store in Music Sound (Caguas),ANKLA apologizes and wants you to know that this was not our fault. This was totally out of our control. Right now the band is in negotiations with another promoter to reschedule the show."
